COVID Update

Hi all, I’m hoping this finds you all well wherever you may be. It’s now just over 3 months since we took the hard decision to postpone the game just as Covid-19 was hitting. I would imagine all of us here have had some LARP plans affected by it. As it stands currently the lockdown that was imposed just after the game would have run is slowly being eased.

Some of you might have seen that the Grange (where we were intending to run the LARP) have announced that they are re-opening, whilst this is true they are still in an early phase. Initially, attendee numbers will be severely restricted and they’re not doing food so we’re still unable to reschedule the LARP at the moment. I’m not aware of the current status of the hotels in the locality as I know a decent part of the attendees were staying off site.

Currently we are unable to confirm new dates for The Goodman Protocol but we are continuing to monitor the situation and will be continuing to liaise with the Grange. With other LARP events scheduled for October/November being cancelled/postponed I doubt we will be in a position to run until the Spring of 2021 (roughly 12 months after we initially planned) but the situation remains extremely fluid as I’m sure you can appreciate. We will have a new Risk Assessment for the event once we have a confirmed date and that will form our response to make the event as Covid secure as we can.

As ever, if you have any questions or queries then please feel free to talk to one of the GM’s.

We still have every intention that The Goodman Protocol WILL run.

Regards,

James, Andy and Nick

Event Update

Hi all, as you may or may not know High Frontier : The Goodman Protocol is just over 10 days away from finally happening.  We published the Covid guidelines for this event a couple of months ago, this basically boils down we’re asking every attendee (players, crew and GMs) to take an LFT before the game and if they test positive then not to attend.  I am very much of the opinion that every LARP (irrespective of size) should have some kind of Covid policy, the legal requirements may be over but cases and hospitalisations are (at time of writing) going up.  I’d be curious to hear people’s thoughts on this, would you attend an event that didn’t have a policy, are you worried about attending LARPs in the current climate or something else?

Event Postponed! - Please Read

Hi all, the GM team of The Goodman Protocol has finished a conference call about the LARP.

Cutting to the chase we are postponing the Goodman Protocol LARP that was scheduled to happen next weekend in Coventry until later in the year.

We’ve not taken this decision lightly, even though our event is relatively small by comparison to other events we feel it is the responsible thing to do in light of recent developments.

We will look to rebook the site for later in the year but we don’t have a confirmed date as yet (if you have any thoughts or dates we should try and avoid then please let us know). It is currently our intention to roll player/crew bookings into that new event, we don’t know what happens with food tickets as yet but will confirm when we can. If you are unable to make the new event then we will try and offer refunds where we can.

I know I speak for all of the GMs when I say that despite all the work we, and others in the hobby that have assisted us, have put into this we just don’t think now is the right time to run it.

I’d like to thank everyone for their support and we will update here when we can.

Regards,

James, Andy and Nick
